葛飾北斎の晩年の創作の地・長野県小布施の北斎館で開催された展覧会「Wave Transitions」を記念して制作したものです。

Tシャツに使用されたグラフィックは、ワクイ自身がキャンバスにアクリル絵具で描いたペインティング作品の一部を高解像度で撮影し、プリントしたもの。

その筆致や色彩のダイナミズムが、布地の上でも鮮やかに息づいています。

This T-shirt was created in 2025 by artist Akira Wakui to commemorate the Wave Transitions exhibition, held at the Hokusai Museum in Obuse, Nagano Prefecture—a place where Katsushika Hokusai spent the final years of his life.

The graphic printed on the shirt captures a high-resolution detail from one of Wakui’s original acrylic paintings on canvas. The dynamic brushstrokes and vivid colors have been faithfully reproduced on fabric, making each piece a wearable artwork.
